Honest sizing, transparent pricing

Residential HVAC installation and system replacement, sized properly

We run a Manual J load calculation before we quote, so the system matches your home instead of matching a sales target. Then we put the price in writing, help you with rebates, and stand behind the install.

Residential HVAC installation means removing the old equipment, installing the new system, and reconnecting the ductwork and controls so the whole home is balanced. RB HVAC Inc. installs central air conditioning, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits in Stockton, Sacramento, Modesto and the surrounding Central Valley. We size every system with a Manual J load calculation first, quote the price in writing, and back replacements with the standard 10-year manufacturer parts coverage plus 1 to 5 years of labor from us.

Everything this service includes

Central air conditioning

High-efficiency central AC systems sized for the home, with a full Manual J load calculation before we quote.

Heat pump systems

Heating and cooling from one unit, including variable speed and the newer A2L refrigerant models.

Ductless mini-splits

For homes without existing ductwork, or for adding conditioned space without running ducts through the house.

Full system replacement

Remove the old equipment, install the new, reconnect the ductwork and controls, and commission the system.

Ductwork upgrades

Where the existing ductwork is the limiting factor, we size the ductwork to match the system rather than the other way around.

Manual J load calculation

We measure the home, not the house type, so the system is not oversized.

How the job runs

The same four steps whether it is a repair, a replacement or a seasonal tune-up.

Load calculation and site survey

We measure the home and inspect the existing ductwork, electrical and space for the equipment.

A written proposal

You get the equipment, the price and the scope in writing, with the options laid out plainly. Call us for a free phone consultation to discuss your installation options.

Install and commission

We remove the old system, install the new one, reconnect the ductwork, and test every mode before we leave.

Paperwork, rebates and warranty

We handle California TECH Clean California rebate paperwork for you and hand over the manufacturer and labor warranty details.

What drives the price of a new system

Figures are our own and are current as of this year. Final pricing depends on your system, your home and the work involved.

FactorWhy it changes the quoteWhat it changes for you
System sizeThe tonnage sets the equipment and the labour. Too small and it never catches up, too big and it short-cycles and wears out early. We run a Manual J load calculation and size to your home, not to the square footage on the listing.
Efficiency ratingA higher rating costs more up front and saves more on the utility bill over the years. We show you the options side by side with the running cost, so you can judge the payback yourself.
DuctworkIf the existing ducts cannot carry the new system, no equipment fixes the problem. We check the runs before we quote, and we tell you if the ductwork is the limiting factor.
Electrical scopeA new circuit or a panel change is a real line on a quote, and two quotes can look identical until one includes it.We check the service and the panel before we commit to anything.
Access and install locationA roof unit, an attic unit and a ground pad are very different jobs to work on.We look at the access before we quote, so the price we give you is the price you get.
Brand and equipment tierDifferent manufacturers and efficiency tiers carry different price points. We install what we trust, and we tell you what each option costs you over its life, not just on day one.
Removing the old systemSome installations need the old system recovered and disposed of properly, and refrigerant has to be handled a certain way.We take the old unit away and recover the refrigerant legally, and it is included in the quote.

Common questions

It depends on your home, not on a price list. The tonnage, the efficiency rating, whether the existing ductwork can carry the new system, the electrical work, and how accessible the install location is all move the price. We calculate those for your home, then put the exact price in writing before anything is ordered. Call us for a free phone consultation and installation guide.

With a Manual J load calculation. We measure the home and model it rather than guessing from the square footage, so the system is not oversized. An oversized system cycles short, runs less efficiently and fails sooner.

The standard 10-year manufacturer parts coverage, plus 1 to 5 years of labor from RB HVAC on replacements. Installations also carry a 5-year warranty from us. We will always tell you exactly which manufacturer warranty applies to the equipment you are buying.

Yes. Flexible monthly financing is available for all credit scores, including low credit or rebuilding credit, on qualifying credit. We also help you get approved for California TECH Clean California rebates and handle the paperwork for you.

Yes. Active and veteran service members get a discount off a new system installation. Ask us when you call and we will tell you what it works out at.

Yes. If another company told you to replace your system, call us for an honest phone consultation. We will discuss the details and tell you what we would do from a trade perspective.

A like-for-like central system replacement is normally a single day. Ductwork changes, new mini-split runs and anything that needs new electrical can take longer, and we will tell you the expected timeline in the proposal before we start.

We remove and take it away. Any refrigerant is recovered properly, which is also the legally required way to handle it.
